What I do: I am a front-end developer and web designer at Odysys. I spend the majority of my time coding and implementing designs from our UX/UI designer, optimizing the code on the front-end of the app, designing and building web templates, addressing change requests and working closely with our developers and engineers to ensure a simple, rewarding experience for our users.
Past lives: I have been a designer/developer for over 15 years. I have been a creative director at a lifestyle magazine, web designer at several clothing companies (including the travel-clothing pioneers, ExOfficio), a bike messenger, exterminator, bus boy and grounds crew member at a country club.
Hospitality background: I have worked in several restaurants over the years, from washing dishes to waiting tables.
Ideal room: I am not too picky about my accommodations, a comfortable bed and a clean shower are always nice.
Best hotel memory: Traveling with my kids is always an adventure. I love their excitement when arriving at a new hotel.
Hotel I’m dying to stay at: Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, B.C.
Pro tip: Keep it simple. Don’t make customers think more than they have to when using your web site.
